Physical Mode (at Local Institute)
Dear SASPI Members Across Each Medical Institute of India, We welcome your interest in launching the Integrated Antimicrobial Stewardship (IAS) Foundation Course, coordinated by SASPI. This course is designed for interns, residents, and faculty to build essential skills in:
  • Antimicrobial Stewardship (ASP)
  • Infection Prevention Stewardship (ISP)
  • Diagnostic Stewardship (DSP)
To begin the process, please:

Steps for Course Implementation

  1. SASPI office sends the MoU template along with an official invitation email to the identified SASPI member (preferably a clinician, but bedside microbiologist and pharmacologist are also eligible) of the institute, with CC to their Director/Dean.
  2. Upon agreement, the Director/admin and the SASPI member of the local institute sign the MoU and return a scanned copy to SASPI office where its executives sign and keep for record purposes.
  3. Once the MoU is signed by both parties, SASPI and the local institute team collaboratively plan the course. SASPI provides standard course material that can be locally adapted. In the absence of local trainers, SASPI may nominate external faculty.
  4. The course is conducted across four half-days (a total of 14 hours), preferably during WAAW. The local institute arranges logistics, including venue, AV setup, refreshments, and printed materials. SASPI supports initial coordination.
  5. At the end of the course, an evaluation is conducted. Participants scoring 75% or above receive a certificate signed jointly by the local Director and SASPI. Participants scoring below 75% must attend the next batch.
  6. Post-course, trained faculty from the institute conduct internal training sessions as TOT for their own staff (junior doctors, nurses, etc.) under SASPI mentorship.
  7. Recordings and final course materials of the local sessions are uploaded on the institute’s own website. The link is shared with SASPI for inclusion in its central media archive.
