Welcome to SASPI : We aim to establish the Integrated Antimicrobial Stewardship Practices in India.
The Society of Antimicrobial Stewardship PractIces (SASPI) in India is a prominent professional organization focused on promoting integrated antimicrobial stewardship (IAS) practices. Its primary mission is to disseminate knowledge and encourage collaboration among healthcare professionals, scientists, and policymakers to tackle the pressing global challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
SASPI facilitates its objectives through initiatives like organizing national conferences (e.g., ASPICON), publishing research, and creating platforms for sharing insights on IAS practices. Membership is extended to physicians, doctoral-level scientists, and other healthcare professionals, with provisions for annual or lifetime memberships following a period of associate membership.
In alignment with its vision, SASPI aims to advance the concept of Integrated Stewardship through the DIA model, which brings together Diagnostic Stewardship Practices (DSP), Infection Stewardship Practices (ISP), and Antimicrobial Stewardship Practices (ASP) as complementary pillars. This model emphasizes judicious diagnosis, prevention, and antimicrobial use – ensuring comprehensive, patient-centered, and evidence-based infection management.
